The Cohabitation Chrolnicles: Sharing Space

(we can thank Melleaux for that title...lol)

Sooooo...it's been 9 days since HH's arrival. Oh - LDR now = HH. His initials. His choice. LOL! We are slowly but surely integrating his things into the house. One thing has become painfully obvious:

WE NEED MORE SPACE.

Or maybe we need less isht? Well, probably a combination of the two.

And the thing is, it's not like he brought a lot of stuff! He didn't even bring furniture. Just...stuff. Clothes. Books. Paperwork. Random tchotchkes. O_o

For the past few months its been me and Bogey. We settled into the space and got a routine going. De-clutter each day, major cleaning on weekends everything in its place.

Enter the dragon.

If dragon = clutter monster! I think clutter makes him comfy! He just sits stuff down the first place he can find. Mostly on the console table in the hall. Sir. No! Why? I feel sort of bad/guilty/frustrated because it's not MY space anymore, it's OUR space...BUT IF YOU DON'T PUT THOSE DAMN KEYS IN THE BASKET WHERE THEY BELONG AND STOP SCATTERING MAIL EVERYWHERE!!!

LMAO! OK. I digress.

It reminds me of the episode of Tia and Tamera, where Tamera talked to her therapist about moving Adam's things into her condo after they got married. She had to stop thinking of it as HER condo. She had to try to see it from Adam's point of view.

I totally get that episode now.

So, we're making adjustments. And I don't want this to sound like a complaint post because its not. I wouldn't change it for the world! It's more like a brain dump. And throughout all of this we have laughed so hard. At our "moments" (like me moving something 2 minutes after he sets it down, and him looking bewildered).

I'm giving up space in the house and creating shared space in our relationship.

#winning!

Hi! My husband is that way too, being more messy than I am. I'm the type that gets up at every commercial and cleans something up. He's the type who sits through the commercials, as dishes heap on the end table. I'm convinced he has some amount of psych disorder for being that messy, while he is convinced that I have a tinge of psych disorder for being so bothered about it. We drive each other nuts sometimes, and all of this has been happening for 23 years!!

While things are busy changing how's about we move you on UP to Wordpress now, m'k? I mean it's the logical next step :) Remember when I offered cupcakes to anyone willing to leave blogger? Yeah. You already got yours!

That out of the way... I'm like HH. I put shit wherever and then deal with it later. Or never. I'd like you to make a video of the two of you now. Thanks in advance! lol

I totally remember that episode of T&T. I know your feeling though. Mister is not as neat and orderly as I am so he will lay stuff down wherever and I do mean wherever. A belt on the dining room table, a t-shirt in the recliner, keys on the dryer. Yes, the dryer. And then wonders why he can't find anything. Hmph. Lol.

And the best part of it all is that LDR is no longer an applicable name!!!! Yay!!!!! I'm SO happy for you!!

I'm laughing so damn hard!!! I'm late to this post but boy can I share your pain!!! I would scream if I had to see one shoe in the middle of the floor and the other on the side of the bed LOL oh or that glass that he left on the table as he left to go to work... Oh wow this is going to be fun..

So happy that you guys are now sharing space!!!

BK, it has been an adventure in these short two weeks. LOL! The shoes, he was putting them by the door but I got tired of tripping over those gun boats so they go in the laundry room now. LOL!
