I didn't get the job. :(
I was in the middle of a seminar when the HR recruiter called and left a message. When I saw the number, I felt excited. Like, it didn't occur to me that he was calling to say no.
I called him back on my lunch break, and he reiterated how it was a reallly tough choice for them, and that if any more opportunities came up locally they would let me know. I said ok, and I thanked him for the opportunity, but in the midst of the call I felt like I was in a daze.
Whaddya MEAN they don't want me?
I've had interviews where they called me 6 hours layer and offered me the position.
Sigh. Oh well. Back to the drawing board. Onward and upward. All that jazz. I just wish I wasn't so bored where I am now. I'm watching things go on around me that just are not right/fair, so I will just keep working to get out of the situation.

Hi C! I have my own business and we only hire people for short-term projects. But I would say that it probably isn't about you. I hire the people who will work best with my husband's personality, not even mine.
My oldest daughter says the same, it isn't how smart you are or how capable oftentimes. Sometimes, it's just a click or not a click. It's probably not personal at all.
Hope that makes you feel better. Chin up!

Hey Marion!
Thanks, yeah I know it wasn't personal. We all got along great in the interview...I am thinking that the other candidate probably had more litigation experience or more experience handling large loss claims, and that would be a better fit for that desk.
I didn't know you where looking for a job but I so know how you feel. What I hate worse is the rude emails I get. Hope you find something soon.
Thanks, Mel - yeah, I was looking for a new position because my current position is not a challenge and is actually quite frustrating. I'm just so ready to get out of here that I literally felt like crying when I got the news. :/
